A delicious low carb twist on the traditional Philly cheesesteak, this casserole is both hearty and healthy.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, sauté until soft.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in the mushrooms, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the heavy cream and half of the provolone cheese.
  5. Combine the beef mixture with the cream mixture in a baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Feel free to substitute other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar.
